Michael Hebron’s Hall of Fame Youth Golf Camp

Schedule

Camp will once again be one hour per week for six consecutive weeks beginning the first full week school is out. It will be offered on Tuesday or Wednesday, with sessions at 9:00, 10:15, or 11:30.  This year’s camp will cost $300 per session.

We will not allow makeups for missed camp days because we are trying to keep the student-to-instructor ratio at 6:1.  Campers must be seven years old when camp starts.

The youth golf programs at Smithtown Lading are designed to be enjoyable while developing long-term skills and interest in the game. The approach is supportive of the individual differences found in every child. This award-winning program has been called low-key and friendly.

We promote the pre-swing basics of grip, stance, and alignment, which are the basics of swinging the club well and playing an enjoyable game. Each young golfer in our group programs will receive some one-on-one attention; we recognize each student is different.

Our programs are based on the act of learning, not an act of teaching. Every session is based on prior knowledge and skill level. Students are never seen as having a poor swing. In our view, every student’s swing and skill level is on their journey to complete development. In our view, no one is broken and needs fixing; there are only opportunities for growth.

Some of the colleges that youth golfers from our program have attended include Stanford, Princeton, Yale, NYU, North Carolina, St. John’s, Villanova, William and Mary, South Carolina, Penn State, Hofstra, Fordham, Tampa Methodist, Ferris State, South Florida.

                                          Information

• Sneakers or golf shoes, no sandals or open-toed shoes.
• Proper golf attire, no tee shirts or gym shorts. Collared shirts are preferred.
• Hat, water, and sunblock are also good to have.
• When we play the Par 3 course, each child will need a set of golf clubs and golf balls. Smithtown Landing is an official U.S. Kids Golf Club dealer. Your patronage is always appreciated. Prices vary depending on size and set makeup.
